WHO WE ARE Kadampa Meditation Center South Carolina (KMC SC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose aim is to help the general public to develop inner peace by offering meditation classes and practical Buddhist advice suitable for busy modern life. We are a member Center of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT), a Buddhist organization based in the West with more than 220 Centers and 1,100 branch locations located all over the world. Although the NKT is a modern organization that was founded in England around 1980, the Kadampa teachings themselves can be traced back more than 1,000 years. KMC SC (formerly Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Center) was founded in 2002 by people in Columbia with an interest in Kadampa Buddhism and meditation. Our Center is located in West Columbia, South Carolina and we hold branch classes in Greenville, Asheville, Charleston, Murrell’s Inlet, and Savannah, GA.
