We work specifically with each individual to address personal goals and to maximise strength and wellness. The Studio Philosophy Each class or treatment session addresses biomechanics, effective mechanical strategies, ongoing movement analysis, retraining and education to promote body awareness, optimal posture alignment and health and wellbeing. We base our sessions and treatment on current research, and use both Pilates and Remedial Massage to facilitate intelligent movement integrating body and mind. Pilates Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasises proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Pilates is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises in the 1920s. Julia Frankish - Owner/Director Julia Frankish is the owner and Director of Evolved Pilates. She opened the studio in 2014 after having taught for a decade in other studios around Melbourne and working closely with physiotherapists and other health practitioners to achieve the health and wellbeing goals of her clients. Through her experiences with dance training, Julia was introduced to Pilates as a way to strengthen her body, and help hold it together. This ignited a lifelong love of the method and its intelligent movement principles. She attained her Pilates certification in 2005 and now holds a Level 4 Professional Practitioner qualification with the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) and also runs the APMA Teacher Training Course.
