Welcome! You are about to experience a noticeable and beneficial change in body and mind as you begin the profound practice of yoga. When first coming to yoga, students are introduced to asanas (postures) with an emphasis on accuracy in alignment. This accuracy and attention to detail is not merely physical, but requires us to consciously observe as we act. Regular practice of yoga will result in an improvement of flexibility, strength and relaxation, however in Yoga, this is just the beginning. We begin by learning how to make the shapes of the asanas, but over time learn to watch ourselves as we perform the asanas. Then the asanas become yogasanas.
Our beginners courses and casual classes are designed for those who have no previous experience of yoga and are suitable for people of all ages, and all levels of fitness. However, you can also join if you have some previous yoga experience and want to refresh your practice. Learn the world’s most practised form of hatha yoga, enjoy increased strength and flexibility and discover the sense of health, physical well being and mental relaxation that flow from the practice of yoga. Each class begins with asanas (poses) to stretch and loosen the body, followed by more energetic poses, and concludes with relaxation. Joining after the term has started: you are welcome to join this course after the commencement date, especially if you have some previous yoga experience. If you are interested and attend a class casually please ask the teacher about joining, or just give us a call.
