Body Lab is the first to introduced Pilates to Taiwan in 2000 and also the first Pilates teacher training institution in the region. The director of Body Lab, Chin-Shan Hsieh came from a unique movement training background and introduces the method with a scientific sound, and aesthetic pleasing approach. Ms. Hsieh has an extensive experience in teaching Pilates and training Pilates’ instructors in both US and Taiwan. Before started Body Lab, she worked as a senior Pilates instructor for years at the On Center Conditioning in southern California, where she received her Pilates teaching certification from the world renowned Pilates Master Rael Isacowitz. Most notably, Chin-Shan Hsieh is one of the very few PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) Gold Certified Pilates instructors in the world. She has published 6 books on the subject of Pilates and a regular guest to many health programs on TV shows. Chin-Shan Hsieh is also a GYROKINESIS® pre-trainer and GYROTONIC® pre-trainer. In order to provide more comprehensive training, Chin-Shan Hsieh introduced the concept of GYROTONIC® to her students at BODYLAB in 2006. Body Lab offers Pilates classes in different functional topics at different levels. There are private sessions, semi-private sessions and group lessons that meet your individual needs, goals, and capabilities. Most instructors at Body Lab are PMA certified trainers who updates their training through annual PMA conference and major Pilates workshops all over the world. Body Lab is located at the heart of Taipei and is surprisingly convenient to MRT within minutes. There are also parking facilities close to the studio if you prefer to drive. Classes at Body Lab are primarily instructed in Mandarin. English taught classes are available to private lessons and by special arrangements. Taking Pilates classes at Body Lab is a great learning experience in a different culture however relaxing setting.
