You will dive deep into the practices of asana, yogic history and philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, and a course in the business of yoga. Each section of the course will be taught by teachers with expertise in the field. Hillary Atalina will lead the training. The history and philosophy portion will be an online course taught by Seth Powell, a Ph.D. candidate in South Asian Religions at Harvard University. The anatomy and physiology portion will be taught by Emily Haw, a doctor of physical therapy.
The total training hours are 200 with 170 hours in-person and 30 hours online. The online history course needs to be completed by the start of the training. 170 hours of in-person training will be from March 18 - April 6. The online sessions will be pre-recorded lectures.
Techniques, training, and practice - 75 hours
There are many options for accommodation to fit your preference and budget. There are shared and private rooms available for you at the retreat center.
Three plant-based meals will be provided each day, which is included in the price. A few of the accommodations have access to a shared kitchen. There are markets and cafes nearby that offer healthy whole foods, groceries, and specialty coffee. Those that have dietary restrictions, please communicate it before the start of the training so that the chefs can make arrangements.
