Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Zentrum Schmiljanstraße Berlin - Balanceboat is a business in Yoga Studio category. The Yoga Studio is located at Gartenhaus, Schmiljanstraße 24, 12161 Berlin, Germany
A holistic yoga offer - body, mind and soul are addressed here. There are open hours and courses that build on each other, as well as meditation evenings and various workshops (e.g. cooking courses) in a beautiful atmosphere. The basis is the old Indian yoga tradition, which includes the teachings of Sw. Sivananda (born 1887 in India). Highly recommended for people who would like to dive deeper into yoga or are looking for "more"!

Really nice ambience and a very competent yoga teacher. At the beginning I was received very friendly and I was immediately offered tea. As a beginner, I had great respect for my first lesson. However, my fears turned out to be unfounded and my expectations were even exceeded: it was possible to do the exercises outside in the garden in the sunshine. The yoga teacher explained everything very calmly and friendly and corrected the participants - if they did not do it correctly - without making you feel uncomfortable. It was also helpful that all exercises were explained well and in detail at all times. As a newcomer, I was also given a mattress and a pillow for the first hour.
All in all, I can only warmly recommend the Yoga Center and I always felt that I was in good hands. I'm looking forward to many yoga classes to come :)

I was there again yesterday after 2 years. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, there was whispering in the waiting area where I had been waiting for the class to start, like in a church. Yoga Gentle and Yoga 5 were merged because there was no teacher for Yoga Gentle, my course. The strange atmosphere continued, no greeting, no hello, nothing. In the course itself, I contracted lumbago and had to stop, the exercises were probably too demanding for me, but I wasn't able to judge that well myself. The teacher just asked what was going on, I said back pain, he didn't say anything else. I finished the course with a bang and could hardly walk. on the stairs I met the teacher again when leaving. don't ask me how to do it. nothing at all. So, dressing like the teacher in a yellow t-shirt with Love on it doesn't make you a good teacher or an empathetic person. All this pseudo-spirituality in the store is absurd. True spirituality shows itself in empathy, kindness and mindfulness for and towards one's fellow human beings. I couldn't find any of that.

Nice center, there are up to 5 open hours every day (see website) and constantly new courses for all levels, as well as pranayama, meditation and theory. Three large yoga rooms and an outdoor platform for the summer, as well as several small rooms for workshops. Very attentive, careful teachers, very pleasant atmosphere.
