Vipassana Meditation Centre Dhamma Sikhara Dharamsala
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results. There are no charges for the courses - not even to cover the cost of food and accommodation. All expenses are met by donations from people who, having completed a course and experienced the benefits of Vipassana, wish to give others the opportunity to also benefit.
Abhinam Yoga School
Yoga is a lifelong learning process: It is a complete life-style rather than just an exercise. It demands a very humble, open and innocent mind.
In the west the word “Yoga†has become a synonym for physical exercise and has adopted gym culture. Yoga has turned into a competitive sport: The more flexible the better and something to succeed at all cost.
Abhinam Yoga School does not agree with this currently popular presentation of Yoga. We are committed to bringing back the true essence of Yoga: The art of aligning body, mind and being that is reflected in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali and other ancient yoga scriptures like the Bhagavat Gita.
Surya Namaskar - Sun salutationsWe aim to make Yoga teachers aware of the 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga. These 8 limbs or steps are the core of Patanjali’s teachings and build a framework that helps us to recognise our true self. Our teaching focuses as much on the external Yoga practices (such as correct alignment of Asanas) as on the internal practices (such as one’s ethical standards, meditation and spiritual practices).
In short, we want to present a holistic vision of Yoga which addresses body, mind and our innermost being. Abhinam Yoga is dedicated to bringing Yoga out of its current “succeed at all cost culture†and to teach Yoga injury free. Our aspiration is to train Yoga teachers worldwide who will be supportive of their student’s inner growth.
Abhinam Yoga Center perceives comparison as a form of violence, so the attitude of competition and comparison is strongly discouraged at our school. We provide a non-comparing and non-competitive environment for students. This helps them to relax and go deeper into their practice without any external pressure.

His Holiness began his monastic education at the age of six. At twenty three he passed his final examination with honours and was awarded the Geshe Lharampa degree, equivalent to a doctorate of Buddhist philosophy. His Holiness describes himself as a simple Buddhist monk.
In 1959, with the brutal suppression of the Tibetan national uprising by the Chinese, His Holiness was forced to escape to India. Since then he has been living in Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan Government in exile.

Founder of Tushita Meditation Centre and the FPMT
Founder of Tushita Meditation Centre and the FPMT – Lama Thubten Yeshe was born in Tibet in 1935. At the age of six, he entered Sera Monastic University in Tibet where he studied until 1959, when as Lama Yeshe himself has said, “In that year the Chinese kindly told us that it was time to leave Tibet and meet the outside world.” Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, together as teacher and disciple since their exile in India, met their first Western students in 1965. By 1971 they settled at Kopan, a small hamlet near Kathmandu in Nepal.
In 1972, in response to the ever-growing demand from their Western students, the Lamas decided to open a sister centre, which was intended to be used for retreats. They decided to locate it in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, which was home to many of their teachers, and so Tushita Retreat Centre (which was later renamed Tushita Meditation Centre) was founded.
In 1974, the Lamas began touring and teaching in the West, which would eventually result in The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). Lama Yeshe died in 1984, his reincarnation Lama Tenzin Osel Rinpoche was born to Spanish parents in 1985. You can read more about Osel

Him Veda Ayurveda Panchakarma Center
Him Veda Ayurveda Panchakarma Center symbolizes efficacy and reliability of Ayurvedic treatments for disorders which are posing a challenge to the modern system of medicine. Ayurveda is as simple as mother nature itself. Simple yet not simplistic We have kept our working principles simple to match this simplicity. How we treat : Our doctors rely on the ancient ‘guna’ based concept of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a highly personalised system of medicine.Medicine in two patients of the same disease may totally differ because of the differences in ‘Prakriti’ (body type). Prakriti analysis is done before prescribing the medicines. Vikriti (disease) analysis is done using modern parameters like blood tests, scans e.t.c. We use our own medicines/herbs rather than falling for fancy Ayurvedic products. These medicines are made in our center from Himalayan herbs provided to us by the local farmers in Him Veda Ayurveda Panchakarma Center. We also use traditional Panchakarma therapies. We believe in empowering our patients with knowledge of Ayurveda so that they learn to self heal by following healthy lifestyle rather than being over dependent on medicines and doctors. We like to develop a strong personal bond with our patients. Food is the primary medicine and we look at it that way. Our food for the inpatients is cooked with love and care.

Our Yoga teacher
Vijay Amar, born in 1956, has been practising Yoga for more than 45 years and teaching for over 20 years.

Vijay graduated as a Hatha yoga teacher in April, 1993 from Bihar School of Yoga in Munger,. Immediately after, he started The Universal School of Yoga in Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu. In 1998, he was invited by his students to Dharamshala and since then he is imparting his knowledge and wisdom to the students, who come from across the world.
Vijay did his Teacher Training course in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Mr. Jean Claude Garnier- Belgium. Thus he expanded his understanding and ability into the realm of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. With his experience in these two systems he improvised and also focused on the methodology to improve the flexibility and strength. Intermittently he used to visit Mamallapuram to pursue his passion of imparting the knowledge to others.
Vijay also did Teacher Training course with B N S Iyengar – Mysore.
Since 2004, Vijay has been invited to teach in USA, Russia, Mexico, Israel, Kazakhstan and Thailand. He regularly teaches in Goa, Rishikesh, Mysore and his present home in Dharamsala as a teacher in all of these disciplines.
The fruit of many years of study in different schools of Yoga and his personally devised system of Universal Hatha Yoga gives the student a depth in understanding, relaxation and self-healing. This style of Yoga utilises physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama) and meditation techniques to liberate the vital energy of the body and mind.
Stress, depression, worry, an unhealthy environment and impure food can all contribute to the build up of blocks in the pranic body which destroy our natural vitality and lead to illness. The system of Universal Hatha Yoga aims to remove these blockages by purifying the body and its internal organs through physical and spiritual techniques. Muscular tension is released and the entire nervous system is revitalised. At the physical level, Universal Hatha Yoga calms the mind and prepares the practitioner for a deeper meditative experience. All traditions speak of the need to cleanse the mind and body before realisation can occur. The Universal Hatha Yoga offers a safe and tested means to achieve this.
Universal Hatha Yoga leaves one feeling balanced and energized, and takes one towards the psycho-spiritual and biological unity that we are. Heal yourself profoundly using your own mind and body.
Z Meditation Center
Please close your eyes for a while and ask yourself a few important questions:
Am I happy? Am I living a fulfilled life? Am I doing what I really love to do?
Do I feel that there is something missing in my life? Is my life free from pain?
Many of us will realize that we want a positive change? Something appears to be missing, but it is difficult to know, what. We have unconsciously made certain choices in the past that have led to the current state of being. We have the option of eradicating suffering and emptiness from our lives. Awareness, Bliss and Freedom are not merely a few esoteric words. We can experience them as our real nature. If we genuinely wish to experience this state of liberty, Z Meditation can be the way to this big change.
Z Meditation is a systematic and thorough work of inquiring into the veracity of the beliefs that plague the mind and cause so much suffering. These conditionings reside in the unconscious areas of the mind. They can be known and dealt with provided there is sincere desire to do the same.
Z Meditation courses are 10+5-day silent programs organized at Dharamsala in India. In the first 10 days, you learn how to free your mind from the untrue beliefs and achieve a state of unconditioned happiness. In the last 5 days, you go very deep inside and realize your identity with the Self – a state of eternal blissful awareness. After reaching this purest state of being, you will go back home with a tool that you need to practice daily in order to keep the experience of freedom shining.
Z Meditation is one of the most effective courses for dealing with suffering and restlessness. You will realize that you cannot segregate your spiritual life from your so-called real life. They are one and the same. The concepts that you practice during meditation need to be followed in all your interactions as well. In the following two videos, you will learn how to gain spiritual benefit from the experience of sickness and pain.
In order to go deep within yourself, you must have sufficient time available to you. It is not possible to attain freedom without deep contemplation and that requires leisure. If you happen to be impatient and want a quick-fix solution, you will not be able to bring about necessary changes in your mindset. Just surfing the spiritual websites or spiritual places is not adequate. All fulfillment and happiness exist within you. There is a goldmine located within your heart. You will need to dive deep. Very deep!
