For the rest of each day, guests enjoy organically homegrown food, the magic of Ahimsa’s garden of healing trees and plants, time for reflection, and immersion in an ancient culture.
We give our guests the experience of seeing performances of traditional dance, music and martial arts—all conveniently at the Ahimsa villa. We hope our guests will leave Ahimsa in a state of enhanced well being, health, and optimism—better stewards of their own health and of our Earth.

Ayurveda diagnoses each person’s individual constitution, then seeks to strengthen the person as a whole. This approach boosts all systems, including the immune system, by removing toxins, not only physical, but mental and spiritual.
Ahimsa offers an augmented form of this treatment, administered by Unnikrishnan Gurukkal, in which the principles of Marma are incorporated into traditional Panchakamra. Gurukkal is a highly esteemed title granted by his peers for his training and expertise. Kalari-Marma-Chikitza involves complex 1 to 2 hour massages and is administered by 2 to 3 persons.

For those new to Yoga. A slower paced class paying close attention to alignment and breathing forming the foundation of your yoga practise.
A class encompassing all elements of Hatha yoga with some flow specifically with the sun salutation. Very good to improve strength, flexibility, relaxation and stillness of mind, Suitable for all levels.
On a Wednesday night James teaches a Vinyasa Flow class. This class is more challenging including Vinyasa and Astanga yoga elements with more hands on adjustments. Suitable for those with yoga experience and for those who are looking to develop their practise
Based on Hatha Flow Yoga where the chakras (subtle energy centres) are brought to the students attention. The class is a flow class with some strong pranayama and other music and mantra meditations. It is suitable for all levels and for those looking to go deeper into their yoga practise.
A deeply relaxing, meditative class that restores the body and through the deep relaxation paradoxically it helps energise and heal the body and is followed with Yoga Nidra.
Nidra means sleep this is the state we enter between wakefulness and sleep, when profound relaxation,release of chronic stress and deep transformation can occur. Sunpower yoga with Helen Dempster is an eclectic mix of three styles of yoga: Dynamic Hatha for Alignment, Sivananda Yoga for Subtle Mind and Breath work and Astanga Vinyasa for Heat, flexibility and stamina. It is an excellent class for those who would like a more dynamic and active class.
We hold the asanas for at least 3 minutes which allows us to move beyond the muscles and release fascia and joints, which allows a deep release of tension and stress
As a purpose built studio we have access to a wide range of equipment which allows you to get the most out of your workout as there is something for everyone. The Pilates stability ball is used in almost every class and helps to challenge your balance and stability which improves core strength more quickly than working on the mat. We believe our classes are unique as we also use our yoga experince in placing a strong emphasis on the breathe and mindful movement which will help you on all levels.
