This 100 hour Yin Yoga will give the budding instructor the insights and understandings to lead effective long-hold, deep-stretch classes within the context codified by Paul Grilley and further developed by Christopher Drozd.
The basis of the practice is a series of postures that focuses primarily on the hips and low back, although other joints may receive stimulation and attendant benefits, as well.
The cadre of Yin postures is small in comparison the the vast Hatha repertoire, and its alignment particulars are more directly determined by the yogi’s physical structure than by the aesthetic execution of any pose. Some postures will come easily, others will require more patience to accomplish and some may simply prove impossible, all based on the individual’s bony architecture. By exploring the capabilities of one’s own body, as well as others’ within this teacher training setting the aspirant gains an unparalleled self understanding that can immediately be applied within any yoga class setting, not just in Yin yoga.
Meditation is the scientific methodology of awareness. Many meditative techniques require one to sit still in silence. For most, the mind chatter is so loud that sitting in silence is impossible. Before we can hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we need to let go of the tensions. Active meditation techniques with background music help to de-stress and let-go from the pressure of modern day living.
Learn sacred techniques over the course of a week. A combination of active, passive and guided meditation methods are utilised in the one-hour classes.
The word Pranayama means Prana (life force) and Ayama (regulation or lengthening). Pranayama is the technique of regulating breath.
Traditionally it was believed that Pranayama should be practiced by those who have “many years’ experience” of doing Asanas (physical postures). In recent years, research has shown that Pranayama can be practiced by anybody, and that it offers many health and spiritual benefits. Pranayama can treat stress related disorders, including anxiety, fear and depression. It increases the capacity of oxygen intake and can even reduce symptoms of asthma. Regular practice of Pranayama brings awareness to the breath, calms the mind, and provides mental clarity.
Improve your overall wellbeing by attending 4 week intensive Pranayama course.
