This is an FPMT centre. FPMT (Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) is a worldwide organisation of over 160 centres, projects and services under the spiritual direction of Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Pokhara Buddhist Meditation Centre also has the name Ganden Yiga Chozin meaning “Pure Land of Maitreya Buddhaâ€. Once Maitreya becomes a Buddha, he will rule over the Ketumati Pure Land, an earthly paradise.
Directions: From the taxi stand at at the main crossing (Halan Chowk) head towards Kahare along Lakeside (Baidam) Road. The path up to the Centre starts opposite the “Hungry Feel Restaurant and Bakery”, and next to ‘Empowering Women of Nepal / Three Sisters’ Trekking.
