About Us In the WMC we explore ways to live more in the present moment and to come to rest in our true selves. No commitment to a belief or doctrine is involved. REALISING UNITY IN ONESELF AND EVERYTHING Our teaching is largely based on a wonderful philosophical tradition passed on to us from India through a series of conversations over many years. We meet regularly for meditation and discussion of topics of spiritual interest, exploring the teaching of many writers and teachers. Everyone is welcome regardless of personal religion or belief. The Wellington Meditation Centre is not affiliated to any religious organisation, is a not-for-profit incorporated society and is registered by the Charities Services under the name Wellington Study Group as a charitable entity (CC38768). The WMC is autonomous, but linked to similar groups located in Auckland, Canberra, Melbourne, London, New York, and other centres around the world. No need to live in Wellington to participate in activities linked with those of the WMC. There is an affiliated society in Auckland and other contacts around the country. Persons who have indicated their interest over an extended period in an activity run by the society are offered membership. Members have the use of a Library and the society’s premises. Introduction Longing to understand the truth about ourselves and our full potential in the universe in which we live has always been an undercurrent that brings us together in the Wellington Study Group (WSG)*. Drawing at various times from differing tributary streams, today there runs through the WSG a unified current of spiritual resources explored over some 60 years. The WSG offers authentic spiritual knowledge, meditation and dervish turning. It brings together individuals who feel drawn to realise in their lives an inner unity and rest, and want to meet others who may share the longing for ‘something more’. CONTACT US The Wellington Meditation Centre (WMC) is situated at 31 Hobson Crescent, Thorndon, where there are a number of members who welcome enquiries on the various activities.
