When you start I Am Pilates Somerset West for the first time, or if you have not done Pilates for a while, we will first spend a few private sessions with you at pilates studio in somerset. Pilates Somerset West will enable you to get comfortable with the exercises and techniques and it will allow us to assess your body and place you in a class that will suit you.
Each session is created with your needs in mind. Our goal is to create a positive movement experience for every client, by teaching them to enjoy using their body in pleasant and challenging ways. Our secret lies in the diverse range of skills of our excellent instructors. This allows us to refer a client to the best practitioner for their specific case and needs. Classes are kept very small to ensure individual attention. We rarely have more than 6 students in a class.
Our Studio
pilates studio in somerset provides a calm, restful environment that allows you to focus on your exercise or therapy. We use a large range of Pilates equipment, like reformers, Wanda chairs, and barrels. This lets us keep your workout interesting and varied. The studio is always spotless and hygenic. Our air-conditioner keeps the studio at a comfortable temperature. There is plenty of parking and 24-hour security.

By studying many diverse disciplines (Gyrokinesis, Rolfing, Yoga, Anatomy Trains and Neuroscience) we are able to combine elements from all of these and provide an ideal combination that will best suit a client or group.

Once a term we run a 6-week course to teach young people how to use pilates principles to improve their posture in standing, sitting and other everyday activities. We also focus on strengthening teens for sport participation and teach them about skeletal and joint support they need for periods of fast growth. We keep sessions fun but also focused. Our participants must be 10 years and older.

All exercises are performed on an exercise mat in a group setting of 6 - 8 people. A balanced mat class will include exercises that strengthen, tone and stretch the whole body; there will be flow of movement threading together flexion, extension and rotation of the spine; performing conscious, precise movement focusing on a strong core and proper breathing as the foundation of each exercise.
Reformer Classes with Cardio (not currently running)
Clients use the reformer machines and perform reformer toning exercises with 2-3 sections of cardio jumping in between. The jumping action is excellent for toning legs, glutes, calves and abdominals. We include resistance training for the upper body during this session, thus making it a full body workout.
Burn fat in optimal alignment while creating a healthy heart, toned muscles and incredible core strength. Rebounding also holds amazing benefits for the lymphatic system.
During this training hour 4-6 clients of similar strength and fitness level train together on the pilates reformers (we also include work on the wunda chairs, trapeze beds, and barrels)
A strong athletic workout, enjoyed by those who do not have any serious injuries and are motivated by a challenge.

This is the best class option for someone who needs special attention due to injury, rehabilitation needs, or due to certain high-risk health conditions eg osteoporosis, hypertension or pregnancy.
We follow a Pilates-based water exercise program in a heated indoor pool. A wonderful exercise choice to improve cardio-vascular fitness; to tone legs, arms, and abdominals; to stimulate the lymphatic system; improve balance; to exercise without strain on joints and to help ease painful inflammatory conditions like fibromyalgia. This is an easy way to obtain and maintain great functional fitness for the rest of your life - some of our clients have been doing aqua training for over 18 years.
Water training is also excellent during pregnancy, where moms-to-be can train up to the day of birth; we have wonderful results with the rehabilitation of knee and hip injuries; also spine and disc injuries respond very well to this program.
