Kundalini Yoga is an ancient and perfect science of being that incorporates physical, mental and spiritual development, allowing us to achieve our highest human potential. Kundalini Yoga respectfully and lovingly belongs to those who practice it. It is a privilege to work and share with each other. The Trustees are a team of experienced teachers who, through regular meetings and a prayerful, clear, grace-filled relationship with one another, seek to provide a nurturing space in South Africa for Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi About Yogi Bhajan and Kundalini Yoga Harbhajan Singh Khalsa, known as Yogi Bhajan, honoured in 1974 with the title of Siri Singh Sahib by the Sikh authorities in Amritsar,, founded the 3HO Foundation in 1969. As master of kundalini yoga, Yogi Bhajan arrived in Canada in 1968 and began sharing what he had learned from his spiritual teachers in. With the motto, “Keep up and you‘ll be kept upâ€, and the ever-repeated goal to inspire teachers and leaders rather than gather students, Yogi Bhajan travelled tirelessly throughout the world teaching and counselling. He inspired us to live, serve and practice in community, in ashrams and at yoga camps. He visited us in 1999 and taught in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Yogi Bhajan left his body in 2004. We are indebted to the enormous body of teachings he left and the continued inspiration and strengthening derived. Kundalini Yoga A powerfully rooted ritual initiates us into any chosen spiritual practice. When we immerse ourselves so completely into the practice we come to see no separation between the practice and ourselves. We are living our purpose and our purpose is joyfully living through us. The practice of all forms of yoga offers us a beautiful opportunity to develop strong rhythms in of practice in our lives that balances and supports us on all levels. Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, is an incredibly transformative spiritual practice brought to us through a strong lineage of enlightened souls. The Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan is the master of Kundalini Yoga and brought this previously secret practice to the West in 1969. Guru Ram Das, the 4th Sikh Guru who is associated with healing and miracles, was Yogi Bhajan’s teacher in the subtle realm. Guru Ram Das was acknowledged as holding the lofty throne of Raj Yoga (Royal Yoga) and would pass that blessing on to all who would come. When we chant to tune in before practice we connect to this lineage, the Golden Chain, through the Adi Mantra: Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo. This mantra is our pure infinite soul connection to all masters and teachers of Kundalini yoga, past, present and future. As we chant we open ourselves to the wisdom that needs to move through us, we bow to the divine Infinity within ourselves and all beings, and we ignite the spark of our intuition and higher guidance.
