We love Sri Lanka’s surf, culture & climate and it’s so close to our original stay in Kerala, India. It’s, what they say in the business, a no-brainer. So we set up a full-time surf & yoga stay here in Sri Lanka a few years ago to offer a glimpse into the soulful surfing life that we cherish so much. Folks tend to call us a surf & yoga retreat, we’re not so sure. A retreat sounds quiet and serious, we’re a little more relaxed than that.
We operate from our new 12 bedroom hotel near to Ahangama, on the South coast to provide a beautiful, bespoke, boutique Soul & Surf in a truly lush jungle location. Where we offer a particularly focused and, well, erm, soulful surf, yoga & therapy experience for our guests. We also offer drop-in yoga classes, treatments and a small cafe-shop for fellow travellers in the area. With more experts on hand than most and more attention to detail than many, we really hope you’ll get what you need from a stay with us. Be it relaxation, progression or rehabilitation. To meet new people, to hang with your loved one, to hang with the family. And, of course, if you want to just laze in the pool with a drink that’s good too. We’re not too serious and definitely not too worthy!
As we are near to the southern tip we escape the full monsoon that rages elsewhere in Sri Lanka so we are open all year round. But be prepared, in the wet season of May to November we experience some heavy tropical showers mixed with bright sunshine and some wilder seas making this more suitable for either beginners (on our sheltered beaches) or experts at the few reefs and points that handle the swell. In the peak season from November to May there are more sunshine days and cleaner surfing conditions but bigger crowds. It’s your choice.
