We attach great importance to a careful introduction into yoga as well as anatomically correct positions. In order to learn yoga properly, yogamoves employs only qualified yoga teachers who have earned a diploma from the Yoga Alliance, the Swiss Yoga Association or an equivalent training course.

In order for yoga to work, the environment should also be right. Our two rooms in the heart of Winterthur are inviting and convivial and provide the right atmosphere for an urban yoga. We provide yogamats and various aids. Cloakrooms are available.

Yoga is a holistic and universal system that harmoniously develops body and mind. The positive effects of regular yogapraxis are extensive: from stress reduction to muscle strengthening to inner calmness and satisfaction.

The term yoga (Sanskrit) can be understood as the union, integrationor harnessing of the body to the soul for collection and concentration, or for getting into the divine. The origin of yoga can be traced back about 5000 years and is one of the six classical schools ofn philosophy. Originally, yoga was a purely spiritual path that sought the search for enlightenment through meditation.

There are many different forms of yoga, often with their own philosophy and practice. In Western Europe and North America, the concept of yoga often refers to physical exercises, the asanas or yogasanas. Their primary goal is to strengthen and mobilize the body so that it can remain as free as possible for a long period in the meditation seat (eg Lotossitz). Over time, however, one recognized the positive effect of physical exercise on the overall well-being of man.

Yoga offers a comprehensive way to bring physical and mental energies to the flow. Through the asanas (body exercises), the body is strengthened and stretched, the circulation is stimulated and the internal organs are massaged. The blood channels are supplied with oxygen, the body detoxifies and the immune system is strengthened. When performing the exercises, the regular flow of the air is the main focus. The mind is calmly reconciled with the body.

In order for yoga to work, the environment should also be right. Our studio at Steinberggasse 61 is located in the heart of the old town of Winterthur, a 5-minute walk from the main train station of Winterthur. We provide yogamats and various aids. Bring comfortable training clothes, we train barefoot. Cloakrooms are available. If it is your first visit, please come to the studio 10 minutes before the beginning of the lesson.
