SATYANANDA YOGA CENTRE (London) has provided yoga classes in South London for over forty years under the direction of Swami Pragyamurti. Our emphasis is towards a meditative approach and the spiritual aspect of Yoga, in the tradition of the Bihar School of Yoga. WEEKLY CLASSES are available for all levels. We encourage regular attendance, especially for beginners to ensure you have a good foundation in yoga. Classes include postures (asana), breath work (pranayama) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) or meditation, appropriate to the level of the class. Our yoga rooms are warm, carpeted and comfortable. Blankets are provided.
WEEKEND EVENTS encourage you to go deeper into your yoga practice, giving you time and space to explore aspects of yoga that are not covered in weekly classes.KIRTAN (joyful chanting) is held at 7.30pm on the last Friday of each month, preceded by the chanting 108 times of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra for the relief of suffering.
