OUR MISSION IS…
To offer a welcoming, safe, and fun environment that enables students to experience yoga as a celebration of life and health with the added power of being part of a community. To integrate the Eastern philosophy of Yoga with the Western lifestyle, making Power Yoga accessible to people of all ages and all walks of life.To ensure that our classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings are led by teachers who share our belief that practicing yoga simultaneously strengthens the body, quietens the mind, and fills our lives with enthusiasm, purpose, success and fun!
POWER YOGA IS A DYNAMIC AND CHALLENGING PRACTICE, HOWEVER, WE BELIEVE THAT OUR GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES OF GROWTH STEM FROM THE CHALLENGES WE MEET IN LIFE.
This can be a great thing to keep in mind when you first start Power Yoga. If you feel a bit lost in your practice at first, don’t worry and do what you can – you are here to learn! It takes most people at least five classes to be able to go with the flow and you will probably have a similar experience. Forget about how flexible and strong you used to be or could be.
Be present, and work with the body you have today. Regardless of how far or deep you can go in a posture, you will benefit simply from trying your best, not pushing too hard, but simply embracing the new feelings in your body and breathing through it. Although other yogis in the room can be a great inspiration and guide when you are new, the yogi next to you could have been practicing yoga for over 10 years, so no matter how much your arms are aching please don’t be put off – there is no race, not even with yourself! If you want to take a rest, child’s pose is always there for you so listen to your body.
We are very proud of our excellent team of teachers who will be happy to guide you through anything that you don’t understand or need help with, before, during, and after class. The most important thing to remember is to breathe, smile and enjoy your time on the mat!
