Kula Yoga Community, LLC offers group yoga classes, workshops, immersions, and teacher training programs in locations throughout Mobile and the Eastern Shore of Alabama. We have no home studio, rather we operate out of shared community and business spaces including churches, museums, art centers, community garden centers, and more.
Kula is the Sanskrit word for community.
Our classes are held in community spaces including businesses, churches, art centers, community gardens, and outdoor locations.
The mission of Kula Yoga Community is to create and support a community of yoga students linked by the common desire for healthy bodies, mental clarity, and emotional well being. We recognize yoga as one of many gateways to self-discovery that leads to improvement in general health and wellness. Kula embraces all students, all ages, races, and denominations.
We practice mindful vinyasa flow, Hatha yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga, and alignment based yoga techniques. Although every teacher is unique in their offering, our unifying bond is a passion for yoga, a commitment to personal practice and growth, and a conviction that yoga is transformative to the body, mind, and spirit. Our teachers are all extensively trained in 200 + hour yoga schooling programs.
We host classes throughout Mobile and Baldwin County, offer instructor training programs, and offer periodic workshops for the gulf coast.
At each Kula yoga site, you will “check in†by signing our book on arrival and placing your payment (cash or check) in the bowl beside the check in sheet. Our regular 60-70 minute classes cost $10.00 / class drop in. We accept online payment for classes and workshops. We frequently offer class “series†at discounted packaged rates. If you are unable to pay and still want to be a part of our yoga community please email us to discuss options.
Kula Yoga Community was founded by Amanda Brenner and Dana Goudie in September 2010. In August 2013 ownership transferred into the hands of teachers Mary Ann Sinde RYT 200 and Julie Wilkins, OT, RYT 200.
We continue to support and serve the community through yoga and look forward to continued growth of the Kula family. We are happy to answer any questions or direct you to an appropriate class for your body, level, and location. Our contact information can be found Here.
