Our Purpose
Everyone welcome! Meditation classes are offered on Sunday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These classes are suitable for all individuals whatever their level of interest, from those who seek simple relaxation to those who wish to ï¬nd lasting innerpeace (what to expect at a class). We offer Buddha’s timeless teachings in a simple, practical way to help solve daily problems and create the real peace and happiness we all long for.
If we examine our life we will discover that most of our time and energy is devoted to mundane activities, such as seeking material and emotional security, enjoying sensory pleasures, or establishing a good reputation. Although these things can make us happy for a short time, they are not able to provide the deep lasting contentment that we long for. Sooner or later our happiness turns into dissatisfaction, and we find ourselves engaged in the pursuit of more worldly pleasures. Directly or indirectly, worldly pleasures cause us mental and physical suffering by stimulating attachment, jealousy, and frustration. Moreover, seeking to fulfil our own desires often bring us into conflict with others.
About Us
Mahasiddha Kadampa Buddhist Center is a place to learn about and practice ancient Buddhist meditation techniques. Everyone can benefit from meditation; you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend meditation classes at Mahasiddha. We offer weekly classes open to anyone that you can drop in on any time, as well in-depth study programs for those interested in studying all of Buddha’s teachings.
Mahasiddha is a member of the International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Kadampa Buddhism is a Mahayana Buddhist school founded by the greatn Buddhist Master Atisha (982-1054). His followers, known as Kadampas, integrate all of Buddha’s teachings into their meditation practice and use this wisdom and compassion to transform daily activities into the path to enlightenment.
