Parimukti Yoga And Meditation Center Goa
Parimukti Yoga School is dedicated to teaching yoga and meditation to every single individual who wants to explore this wonderful ancient science in-depth. We view Yoga as a holistic philosophy offering wisdom and tools to transform your life.
In our teacher training programs, we proceed from the physical body (asanas/body postures) to the energy body, and the mind. The 200hrs Basic Training (YA 200) together with the 300hrs Advanced Studies Training (YA 300) is what we see as the “roots†and the “trunk†of the yoga tree.
This is what gives you the foundational ground, connection and steadiness to become a living yogi or yogini, enabling you to explore the endless possibilities of life and your own personal path.
Yoga is a science. Teaching yoga is an art. It requires knowledge and professionalism, authenticity and creativity. Authenticity and creativity makes you’ll flow more in life. When you are liberated from your own fears, you wake up and discover your innermost truth. When you let your light shine, you give others permission to do the same.
Parimukti acknowledges and emphasizes that every student, and teacher, has his or her own unique presence, energy, message and teaching style. We provide an environment for your learning and practice process, where the Yoga method will be presented and practiced in depth.
Philosophy of 200hrs Parimukti Basic Teacher Training (YA 200)
This training is based on the Ashtanga Yoga path of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. This foundation will give you experience and understanding of the yogic path. We follow the tradition of Krishnamacharya, which is reflected in the fact that the asana practice is mostly in the Hatha Yoga tradition. Practices like asana, breath awareness, basic pranayamas, kriyas (cleansing techniques), visualization, mantras and meditation, will be presented and practiced within the course from the very beginning. Also we acknowledge the different bodily and mental constitutions, by giving a brief introduction to Ayurveda.
Founder of Yoga Tirumalai Krishnamacharya
Tirumalai Krishnamacharya (November 18, 1888 – February 28, 1989)In this phase you will undergo a profound realignment and purification of the physical body, experiencing the results in your own energy and mental/emotional body. Starting from the most tangible in this basic training we will proceed to the most subtle in the advanced training: from the physical body to the energy body, to the mind. When you have accomplished this training with commitment and dedication, you will feel confident to share with others what you have learned through self-investigation and self-practice.
Meditation is a very important element of Parimukti trainings. In this Basic Training you’ll develop an understanding of what meditation is and how other aspects of a yoga practise traditionally are used to prepare ourselves for moving deeper into gaining insight into ourselves and our relationship with the world.
You will be introduced to meditation techniques like vipassana, dance meditation, dynamic meditation, shamata, buddhist meditations, etc. Also, every student can choose to have a day in ‘mouna’: silence during the course. This day you will receive teachings and practices silently, allowing yourself to let go of critical thinking, questions and other habits of the mind.
Ajatananda Ashram is an interreligious monastic ashram in Tapovan (Rishikesh), in the Indian Himalayas, dedicated to the Oneness of Truth and the teachings of Non-Duality (Advaita). It values silence, contemplation, and Self-Enquiry.
It originated in December 2003 to fulfill the dream and vision of Swami Abhishiktananda (1910-1973) as an interreligious monastic community on the banks of the holy Ganges. It was also deeply inspired by his disciple, Swami Ajatananda Saraswati, who realized the Timeless and Absolute Consciousness and who disappeared mysteriously in the Himalayas in 1977. The Rishikesh ashram was named after him and is entrusted to his gracious protection and divine guidance.
Furthermore, the foundation of the ashram was blessed by H.H. Sri Chandra Swami Udasin and supported by other Indian
sages as H.H. Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati and H.H. the XIVth Dalai-Lama.
The entire place and surroundings are filled with high energy and are most conducive for spiritual sadhana and the process of Awakening.
The Dharana Method
The Dharana Method® is not only a simple meditation technique and lifestyle template for all skill levels and nationalities, but also a tribe of teachers and seekers. We aim to empower, train and support this tribe, while raising the collective consciousness with mindfulness education and events.
"My mission is to give people the tools they need to observe and detox negative patterns, and finally feel at home in themselves."
- Founder, Amanda B. Jones
The Dharana Method® is a whole-life approach to being at peace. The Dharana Method utilizes tools including meditation, yoga, pranayama (breathing), Ayurveda (nourishment, behavioral, and detox practices), and manifestation (intentional living) to help you to stop identifying with negative thoughts, and teach you to regulate uncomfortable emotions.

and much, much more!

Where did The Dharana Method® come from?
The Dharana Method® is a simple blend of ancient wisdom and science-based meditation & lifestyle training. Dhāraṇā is a Sanskrit word meaning "single focus," or concentration. In a centuries-old (yet quite modernly practical) guide to inner peace called, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, DHARANA is the most important step for slipping into meditation. Because focus is a key part of any meditation, mastering dharana means you naturally become skilled at walking meditation, breathing meditation, mantra meditation, Buddhist meditation, Vedic meditation and virtually any other meditation out there!
During a struggle with depression and a back injury, the method's founder Amanda B. Jones, realized that it was much easier to "slip into the gap" between thoughts (a saying of her teacher, Deepak Chopra) when she used a point of focus in meditation. After just a few weeks utilizing this process of meditation, along with having the "focus" to live an Ayurvedic lifestyle, Amanda experienced mastery over her emotions and physical body (along with spontaneous weight loss!), and developed a newfound sense of gratitude and purpose.
Many people of all nationalities, spiritual backgrounds and experience levels have had this same success with The Dharana Method®, and it is our intention that you will, too! This is why we have made it our mission to educate and support students virtually or in-person, at your local studio, and in the workplace, with our variety of programs.
