Ajatananda Ashram is an interreligious monastic ashram in Tapovan (Rishikesh), in the Indian Himalayas, dedicated to the Oneness of Truth and the teachings of Non-Duality (Advaita). It values silence, contemplation, and Self-Enquiry.

It originated in December 2003 to fulfill the dream and vision of Swami Abhishiktananda (1910-1973) as an interreligious monastic community on the banks of the holy Ganges. It was also deeply inspired by his disciple, Swami Ajatananda Saraswati, who realized the Timeless and Absolute Consciousness and who disappeared mysteriously in the Himalayas in 1977. The Rishikesh ashram was named after him and is entrusted to his gracious protection and divine guidance.

Furthermore, the foundation of the ashram was blessed by H.H. Sri Chandra Swami Udasin and supported by other Indian

sages as H.H. Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati and H.H. the XIVth Dalai-Lama.

The entire place and surroundings are filled with high energy and are most conducive for spiritual sadhana and the process of Awakening.

Ajatananda Ashram services are following:-

Advaita Satsangs

Satsangs are held at the Ajatananda Ashram daily (except on Thursdays and Fridays) at 16:00 – 17:30 during the Rishikesh Satsang seasons. All satsangs at the ashram are free of cost.

Meditation sessions

Meditation sessions are held daily (except on Thursdays and Fridays) at 19:00 – 19:45 (times are subject to change).These silent meditation sessions take place in the meditation hall and are free of cost in Ajatananda Ashram.

Non-Residential Satsang Retreats

Non-Residential Satsang Retreats offer a great opportunity to deepen spiritual understanding and the practice of awareness and Self-enquiry. During these intense programmes, participants explore the nature of spiritual Awakening through a combination of satsangs, silent meditations, and conscious walks.
