The Ashram is an uplifting East-meets-West retreat for yoga enthusiasts from around the world. Yogrishi Vishvketu co-founded the Ashram in 2007 as the hub for Akhanda Yoga and an ideal residential setting for our YTT programs.
The Ashram is located in Tapovan – Rishikesh, a dynamic international village of spiritual seekers about 250 km north of Delhi. Tapovan means forest of the yogis and is considered the gateway to the Himalayas. The Ashram is on a headland above the banks of the Ganga (Ganges River) and is surrounded by mountains on three sides.

From a yoga teacher, this is the best ashram is Rishikesh!! The ashram is beautiful & clean, classes are strong yet spiritual & staff are lovely. I just stayed for a few days, however I would definitely come back in Winter to do more yoga training. Although Rishikesh is quieter in monsoon season, which was nice, it was a bit dirty & humid, there was construction everywhere and a lot of facilities/ activities are unavailable.

I found it perfect for a curious beginner as I am to join the daily routine of the ashram for 700 rp including two yoga classes (6am and 4pm) and three tasty healthy meals. Yoga classes were great, mainly asana with a bit of respiration exercises, meditation and mantra chanting. I wish I stayed longer in Rishikesh to join the ashram for a longer period, but I'll definitely come back. The place is very clean (never take it for granted in India!) and the majority of yogy are foreigners.

It was our first yoga retreat and we really enjoyed it. very clean space, relax staff and rules, great food. We missed a bot more depth and guidance for the meditation part but overall we enjoyed deeply our experience here in the ashram !

My stay here was great the room was clean and the bed was comfortable! The shower and bathroom were pretty nice. Staff members were friendly and kind. Yoga classes were good the teacher was very nice only request would be to have more teachers so that the classes will be a little different everyday. Overall I enjoyed it here and loved the location!
