Kriya Yoga Ashram - Rishikesh in Rishikesh, India is a business in Yoga Ashram category. The Yoga Ashram is located at Badrinath Road, National Highway 58, Tapovan (Laxman Jhula), Rishikesh, Uttarakhand 249192
I really love this place. From the very first second, it trashed my german conditions. I was able to observe my inner critic that was searching for flaws. As time passed, I could more and more see that all these mental contructs in my mind was just a trick of my ego to avoid a sincere look inside of me. The energy of the ashram is extraordinary. Getting up at 5.30 to mediatore for 1.5 hrs felt never so easy for me. This is not a hotel with tons of comfort, it is a unique place in rishikesh that allows everyone who is sincere in their search of truth to get rid one some unconsciously created illusions. You want to make show off insta storys for your friends back home? Definitly wrong place. You want to connect on a deep level with your true self? Welcome, here you go :)

Kriya yoga ashram in Rishikesh has the most powerful meditation hall, the presence of realised masters of the lineage, like Sri Yukteswarji and Paramahmsa Yogananda is just absolutely blissful.
The price is including full board, there is hot water in rooms and good wifi. Amazing views from the rooftop.
Dont get caught by the looks, that what shines most of the time is not gold. But this ashram will allow you blissful meditations if you allow yourself to get out of egoic expectations.
Looking forward to be back in February.

I have never seen such a superb meditation hall or any ashram working in such a disciplined manner... surely the ashram rules are strict and food is too simple and not spicy like provided in restaurants... But surely, those who are here to explore themselves or want to meditate and look inside self, would find this place ideal... And those looking to find lovers... Or looking for fun time.. this place is no good for them... True picture of ancient Indian Ashrams could be seen to an extent in this place... without rules, without guru or any rules, not gurukul could exist.... For about Rs. 500 ($10) approx. per person per day (twin sharing basis) including three times meals, with all facilities available.. extremely clean rooms and toilets... Can't ask more... blessed to be here :)

I just finished my 300TTC Yoga course in Rishikesh and was meant to stay in this Ashram for a few days.
The man at the reception was pretty rude during check in and afterwards pointed on a sign saying „Dress modestly!“ I then asked him, if my sport shirt and long pants were not Ok. He said „No, cover your shoulders!“ and pointed at an indian lady, who was fully covered until the wrist „It‘s a spiritual place here!“ I said: „Yes! And it‘s a hot place, too!“
I mean, it‘s 35 degrees outside, in my opinion it‘s a bit silly to do exercises in an overall..
I then had a look at the rooms. It was a small cell with a plastic chair and metal shelfs. The paint was dirty, buttons from the switch were missing and it overall made every german prison cell look like a castle.
I have seen quite a few places here in Rishikesh. This one was the worst.
You can find Yoga and Accommondation in a much much nicer, better and friendlier place!

We never actually stayed here my husband was so ill, after being shown our room which was more like a prison cell, it was so cold I thought it would have finished him off and booked into a hotel. As we were in a group I managed a session of yoga in the morning, taking my shoes off I followed everyone up through a building site in bare feet on gritty stones up to the top of the building in the freezing cold, with no warm up it put me of going again.
I could see other Ashrams in Rishikesh offering far better facilities than this one. I felt we were misled by Intrepid who states ‘Head into the stunning foothills of the Himalaya to Holy Rishikesh to practice yoga on the banks of the sacred Ganges’ it was a good 20 minute walk down the hill to see the Ganges.
