Rishikesh Yogkulam

Rishikesh Yogkulam is founded in 2018 from the vision of Dhirendra Bisht and Amit Payal. Dhirendra and Amit have seen their city quickly changing during the past years. Today there are many schools due to the high streams of students and spiritual seekers from all around the world, which have led several schools to only be interested in making yoga, a money oriented business at the expenses of the teaching’s quality.
The two cousins born and raised in Rishikesh wishes people to be able to know yoga from its very origin which is the reason why they decided to open a school with a high level education. The mission is to prepare and shape students looking for the true essence and practices of yoga, to share the authentic yogic science and knowledge that has been passed on as a legacy to the inhabitants of this colourful town, surrounded by majestic mountains and sacred path of the Ganges river.
The name Rishikesh Yogkulam is born from the idea to unify the name of the city “Rishikesh” considered the world capital of yoga, and “Yogkulam” which means yoga family. The reason why Amit and Dhirendra choose this name is because family is a very important value to them, and they wish to convey this sense of union and togetherness to their students. The bond they want to create is the kind that lasts for a lifetime. Students here are not only students and will always be welcome to visit their yoga family of Rishikesh.
Yogkulam means also ancestry and it refers to the fact that Amit and Dhirendra have studied and learned from great masters whose follow the discipline of yoga from its antient origin and traditions. All these things together represent the foundation of the teachings given in the school by the two cousins and passed on from student to student throughout the years.
