Yoga Niketan is one of the oldest Ashrams in Rishikesh. Situated on a gentle hill by the bank of the holy river Ganga, it was established in 1964 by Yogacharya Swami Yogeshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj Ji with the sole purpose of spreading yogvidya and spirituality in the world...
Yoga is an ancient science. Countless books have been written on this vast subject and many Yogis have strived to keep this science alive. Swami Yogeshwaranand ji’s tradition is one such example.
The Retreat will be led by the students who have learnt and practiced under the guidance of Maharajji’s disciples and are carrying his tradition forward.
The primary goal of yoga is to gain balance and control in one's life. It provides a sense of calm that comes from the practice of yogic exercises and breath control.
A healthy mind requires a healthy body. Learning physical postures(Asanas) is one part of that traditional practice.
In the retreat we teach techniques taught by Maharajji which include, Asanas, Pranayama, Bandhas, Chanting, Meditation and Yoga Philosophy.
