Tergar Meditation Center supports individuals, practice groups, and meditation communities around the world in learning to live with awareness, compassion, and wisdom. Grounded in the Tibetan Buddhist lineage of our guiding teacher, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, our online and in-person programs are accessible to people of all cultures and faiths, and support a lifelong path toward the application of these principles in everyday life.
Tergar Meditation Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that develops and delivers Tergar programs, in partnership with our sister organization Tergar Asia. Tergar International is based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota, with a staff of nearly 40 employees and core contractors who work in various locations around the world.
Tergar learning journey meditation begins with the Joy of Living program (Joy of Living), a series of seminars and meditation training that is systematic, gradual, and practical. The joy of Living in the program, participants will learn how to Soothe Mind, Opening the Heart, and Awaken Wisdom. Meditation Joy of Living provides a strong foundation to continue to the next program, Path of Liberation (Liberation Path), a series of meditation training to peel the root cause of suffering and see our inner nature is ever-present awareness, and underlying all phenomena.
Tergar International organizes all activities Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche worldwide, outside of Asia. Activities of Tergar International include making all the material studied and practiced meditation, training to become an instructor and facilitator of meditation, and various other programs for the meditation community in the guidance Mingyur Rinpoche worldwide. Tergar International also plays a role in organizing trips to visit Rinpoche over the world to teach.
