Prior to my surf experience with surf spirit in Sri Lanka I was a frustrated intermediate surfer and had completely stagnated in my surfing development. I did lots of online research looking for a camp that could help to take my surfing to the next level. I couldn’t of been happier with my choice as these guys have helped to transform my surfing :) they have amazing surf guides and the waves are perfect for progressive surfing. The accommodation is stunning and the vibe is like no other camp I have experienced, so relaxed, welcoming but also super professional. The whole booking process was a dream and made my valuable weeks holiday run so smoothly. This has been one of my best weeks ever in my entire life! Sri Lanka is such a warm, safe, colorful and welcoming country and surf spirit retreat is simply its crown jewel. It's a gorgeous villa so close to the shore but still peacefully in land. The teaching and management team is amazing : young, cool, friendly, open, highly skilled. I had ko expectations about surf and Iearned so much in one week that I could tame medium to large and waves of the Indian Ocean (in a beginner beach). The food is mostly plentiful, tasty and healthy with loads of local fruit. I was terribly sad to leave this place, I still dream about it with closed and open eyes.

Surf Spirit was the best holiday of my life. You've got everything you need: awesome food, cool surf and yoga instructors, a cozy and relaxed place to stay. I really recommend a holiday at this place. The hosts are also amazing. They are super friendly and they help you with everything. The big range of different Surfspots is perfect for good surfers. You have good conditions for beginners and also awesome waves for advanced surfers. You can also go surfing or make party. Thank you surf spirit, iw ill definitely come back!

(Original) Im April 2018 war ich zusammen mit einer Freundin eine Woche lang im „Surf Spirit“ in Unawatuna/Sri Lanka! Unser erstes Surf & Yoga Camp und tatsächlich auch „der erste Urlaub dieser Art“ für mich, da ich sonst nur Individualreisen gemacht habe. Zusammengefasst: Es war absolut genial! Die Villa Nicht zu toppen! Das Grundstück ist sehr groß und einfach nur traumhaft. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Es gibt so viele schöne Bereiche, dass man gar nicht weiß, wo man als erstes hin soll! Die Cill-out Area, die Hängematte und der Pool haben sich bei mir aber meistens durchgesetzt ;-) Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll gestaltet und sehr sauber, wir hatten eines mit einem kleinen „Balkon“ (Lieblingsplatz zum Sterne gucken) und mit einem traumhaften Außenbadezimmer! Super gut und wichtig: Die Klimaanlage und das Moskitonetz! Die Zimmer waren auf einem viel besserem Standard als die anderen Unterkünfte unserer Sri Lanka Reise. Surfen Ich: Absoluter Surfanfänger mit Respekt vorm Surfenlernen und vor allem vorm Muskelkater! Unser Surflehrer hat am Anfang etwas Theorie mit uns gemacht und es gab einige Trockenübungen. Danach ging es das erste Mal ins Wasser. Die Bucht an sich ist für Anfänger wirklich gut geeignet, da es recht flach ist, sodass man nicht zu viel Kraft verschwendet, wenn man wieder raus paddelt und es gibt natürlich auch mehr Sicherheit. Der Muskelkater hielt sich also in Grenzen! Man macht am Anfang recht schnell Fortschritte, sodass man sich wirklich von Tag zu Tag weiterentwickelt. Mich hat das Surf-Fieber richtig gepackt! Yoga Der Yogaunterricht hat mir ebenfalls viel Spaß gemacht. Unsere Yoga-Lehrerin hat alle Niveaus vereinigen können, da ein paar absolute Neulinge dabei waren aber auch richtige Yoga Profis, die sogar selbst schon eine Yoga Ausbildung gemacht haben. Gut war auch, dass die Einheiten immer im Wechsel waren, mal morgens vorm Frühstück und dann wieder am Nachmittag. Essen Absoluter Traum! Es wurde immer frisch gekocht und es gab eine riesige Auswahl. Es wurde auf Gäste Rücksicht genommen, die Unverträglichkeiten hatten oder einfach kein scharfes Essen mochten. Zum Frühstück gab es die besten Pancakes überhaupt! Und sooo viele leckere Kokosnüsse! Buchung & Management vor Ort Von der ersten Anfrage bis zur Verabschiedung war auch hier alles tip top! Schon der erste Kontakt bei der Buchungsanfrage war überraschend persönlich - also keine „Standard-Antwort“. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns sofort unglaublich willkommen gefühlt. Man merkt schnell, dass im „Surf Spirit“ viel Wert auf den persönlichen Kontakt und das Erlebnis für jeden einzelnen Gast gelegt wird. Ausflüge Wir hatten den Mittwoch „Surf- und Yogafrei“ (ist auch eine wirklich gute Sache, um dem Muskeln etwas Regeneration zu gewähren ;-)). Wir sind in die Nachbarstadt Galle gefahren (mit dem Tuk Tuk ist man in 5 bis 10 Minuten da). Galle ist perfekt für einen Vor- oder Nachmittag. Es gibt super viele kleine Cafés und Boutiquen. Ihr habt aber auch viele andere Möglichkeiten und könnt direkt im "Surf Spirit", einen Ausflug buchen (Schildkrötenfarm, Nationalpark, Kochkurs, etc.) Sri Lanka selbst Wenn ihr Zeit habt, dann hängt unbedingt noch eine oder zwei Wochen dran und reist rum! Wir waren zwei Wochen vorher unterwegs und sind hauptsächlich mit dem Zug gefahren. Sri Lanka hat nicht nur die Küste zu bieten, im Hochland verbirgt sich eine gigantische Landschaft und durch die unzähligen Teeplantagen ist es überall grün! Soweit das Auge reicht! Zu guter Letzt Nehmt euch wirklich etwas Zink und Sonnencreme mit hohem Lichtschutzfaktor mit. Die Sonne auf Sri Lanka ist nicht zu unterschätzen, ich empfehle daher auch unbedingt ein langärmliges Surfshirt! Ihr merkt schon, ich komme nicht mehr aus dem Schwärmen raus und wäre am liebsten da geblieben! Daher 5 volle Sterne und eine wirkliche Empfehlung, das "Surf Spirit" zu buchen!
