"I have been practicing yoga on and off for 3 years. I am a philosophy professor who teaches Indian philosophy in America, and I was looking to get a solid foundation in yoga and meditation so that I could help my students understand the philosophy part in more detail when I teach the core texts. I found this school to be exactly what I wanted: something not as strict as Shivananda and something not as Westernized as a school I would find in the west where there would be no attention to the tradition and only anatomy and physiology and very little core traditional training. This school had the best of both worlds. No strict early morning 5:30 am wake up. No strict schedule, kind of floating schedule, but core training in asana, alignment, teaching skills, meditation, and anatomy. Good dose of philosophy for those who have no background in philosophy, and good dose of spirituality that is authentic. Manisha is the master a model of how to be a yoga teacher and embody compassion and care for students while enabling transformation. Abhay is very wise and kind hearted. The whole school has a very warm and open hearted experience. And people walk away feeling calm and giving. The details of where I was. The food was amazing. Authentic sattvic diet of the maharastran style. Never a day of bad food. Great beach. Good schedule. Good meditation. Good people. If you want the a balance between strict traditional yoga and over westernized fitness yoga choose Oceanic."

"I had been practicing yoga on and off for several years and decided to take the plunge into doing aTTC training to deepen my practice and to understand yoga in a holistic way. I was planning to be in India anyway and it made sense to me to do my TTC in India, in the birthplace of yoga. My husband had not been to Goa since he was a child and we decided on a school in Goa and picked Oceanic based on a articles we read online. First I’ll mention how lovely everybody is at Oceanic. Manisha who taught us the Asanas and Abhay who taught us philosophy are a wonderful, warm, inspirational and lovely couple. I learned a lot from both of them. I also want to thank Vinod, Yogesh and all the others who worked hard to teach classes and make sure we were well taken care of. It is hard to run an organization and you guys sent positive vibes throughout the course. I wasn’t sure what to expect given that in India Goa is known more as a place to party than as a spiritual center. In the end, I think it was mixed. The resort was on the very beautiful, clean beach (where we got to swim in the ocean) and our hut was basic but very comfortable."

"I completed my 200 hours yoga teacher training with Oceanic Yoga school last month. I had a wonderful experience and could not expect more ! The team was really professionnal, loving, caring, inspiring and very available for anything we could have been needing. The pace of the days and classes were very well balanced so you could really enjoy all of them and take all the benefits from them, the food perfect to handle the days, the place and accommodation amazing (the ocean is just 200 meters from the resort so you can go anytime).The course deeply spiritual took me a little further on my path. I came back with new tools and the feeling to deepen some of them. Also we taught everyday so I came back very confident with the teaching. "I have had the most amazing, life changing experience here at Oceanic. I have learnt so much and gained so much knowledge that I am excited to now share. Throughout the course I have felt very welcomed and relaxed. Food has been a highlight for me, being a vegetarian, also, I have felt health wise so good and very energized. Coming from a western background where communication, social media is very good and also from my experience in the fitness industry and doing many courses, this is something Oceanic can improve on. There was some lack of communication before I arrived, about the course, what to expect, what the schedule will be like and also what to bring. Also, as it was my first time travelling to India from the UK some information would have made me more relaxed about coming. The schedule did change a lot throughout the 24 days, especially towards the end when we were short for time and we needed to fit everything in. I wanted to enjoy my time here, which I definitely did, but also feel relaxed and not rushed for time. So coming up with a schedule where everything is covered in good time is something that can be looked in to. Also, Anatomy is a key thing that needs to be covered just from my experience teaching and unfortunately, we only started looking into this nearer to the end of the course and not much was covered. Personally this would have helped the understanding in practical classes if this was discussed at an earlier stage of the course. Overall, I feel as though I have so much more understanding of my own life, how to improve the quality of my time, my path in Yoga, thanks to the time I have had here at Oceanic. I am going back feeling very calm, fresh and understanding to other people and life. I have gained so much mentally and physically. I am very happy with my decision to do my 200hr teacher training here and wouldn’t have changed any of my experience. Class size for me has made it easier being a small group, being able to share, learn and feel comfortable in our surroundings. Thank you for everything you have given me, I am now very excited for the step through my path of Yoga."

"My time at Oceanic Yoga doing the 200 hour Hatha & vinyasa yoga teacher training has been an amazing experience. Riva resort is a lovely relaxing, place, lovely sunsets and pool to cool down in. All the teachers was lovely, very helpful & understanding, abhay & munisha who was are main teacher was just amazing, she was always smiling and kept us on track, Yogesh who we had for philosophy & meditation who was full of so much knowledge and learnt so much from, Vinod who we had for different kinds of meditation. I really liked oceanic yoga school as it is family run and very welcoming. It has a relaxed feel to it but also know how to push you where you don’t feel pressured. The asana classes happen at a really good pace. They taught me to listen more to my own body and not to over push and over stretch. I have seen a huge improvement on my physical strength and flexibility over my month of Yoga Teacher Training. It has truly been a wonderful experience to be part of the course. It was really amazing to study the true origin and purpose of yoga, studying yogasutra’s of Patanjali and other traditional books and practicing different types of meditation. Thank you all so much."
