Our 200-hour Hatha and Yin Yoga Teacher Training is an intensive course that allows you to become a certified Yoga Teacher, while studying two yoga courses in one. The first weeks of this yoga teacher training program are based on Hatha Yoga while the last week is based on Yin Yoga. The Hatha part of the course helps you to deepen your practice and spiritual understanding of yoga; to expand your knowledge of asanas by paying attention to the key alignments and anatomical structures involved; and to gain in-depth knowledge of pranayama, meditation, Shata Karma, and other practices from various important Hatha Yoga texts. In the Yin part of this course, you learn and practice the techniques of Yin Yoga, in order to work with the deepest layers of the connective tissue; practice mindfulness, patience, and stillness; and learn how to teach and hold spaces in Yin Yoga classes.
Sampoorna Yoga School 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training course is an intensive program designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach yoga classes based on the Ashtanga Primary Series and Vinyasa Flow style. Your yoga teacher training journey with Sampoorna Yoga is as much about deepening your own practice as it is about gaining the skills to teach others. The centre passionately believe in the significance of your own journey of discovery and experience on the development of your unique personal voice and style as a yoga teacher. This 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course is based on the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga, not just on the Asana practice. There is a lot of emphasis placed on Yamas, Niyamas, Pranayama, pratyahara, meditation techniques and mindfulness too.
Yoga Therapy is not new. Prevention and healing have been always the main purpose of yoga philosophy. Therefore, it can be difficult to define it, especially because we can approach the concept from different perspectives. Nevertheless, we offer a few definitions to make the term understandable and accepted by all people -whether yoga practitioners or not.
“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.” (International Association of Yoga Therapists’ definition)
“Yoga therapy is a self-empowering process, where the care-seeker, with the help of the Yoga therapist, implements a personalized and evolving Yoga practice, that not only addresses the illness in a multi-dimensional manner, but also aims to alleviate his/her suffering in a progressive, non-invasive and complementary manner. Depending upon the nature of the illness, Yoga therapy can not only be preventative or curative, but also serve a means to manage the illness, or facilitate healing in the person at all levels.” (TKV Desikachar & Kausthub Desikachar)
Our 300-hour Vinyasa Flow Advanced Yoga Teacher Training course is a four-week intensive program designed to deepen your already existing knowledge and foundations of yoga. You must have already completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in any style to be eligible to enrol on our 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Courses. The primary focus of this course will be on sequencing Vinyasa Flow style yoga classes. Major attention will be given to the principles, technical aspects, and structural components of a Vinyasa Flow class. Much of your time will be spent on expanding your knowledge of asanas while paying attention to the key alignments and anatomical structures in order to deepen your own practice as well as learning how to teach others safely. In addition, you will gain in-depth knowledge of pranayama, meditation and philosophy.
Yin Yoga is a slow paced and passive style of yoga practice where postures are practiced on the floor in a static way for an extended period of time ranging from two to five minutes. In this style we position our body in a particular pose and then let go of all muscular efforts and surrender it to the floor for gravity to do the work. By doing so we relax our muscles and apply moderate stress to the deepest layers of connective tissues of the body -tendons, fascia, and ligaments- improving the health and mobility of joints.
In this training, you will learn the concept of Yin and Yang, the difference between them, and how do they complement each other. You will learn how to practice and teach more than twenty main Yin Yoga postures with their modifications and variations. You will also study in depth the comparative and functional anatomy, difference in bones and the joint structures and how these differences affect the asana practice of each individual.
When combined with internal awareness Yin yoga also becomes a highly meditative tool to cultivate inner silence, enhance awareness and explore the deeper realm of our consciousness.
Meditation needs no introduction. It’s a process of re-training ourselves to a) improve focus, b) improve relaxation, c) unwind stress, d) improve mindfulness and e)spiritual development.
50hr Meditation Teacher Training focuses on learning and teaching different Meditation techniques and Yoga Nidra. The emphasis is on the theory of Meditation an also the practice. Students are expected to learn, practice and also to teach meditation. This helps in continuation of their personal practice for their own benefit and also to share meditation with their friends, family members and students.
Ayurveda is an ancient health and healing branch of knowledge which is holistic and predominantly preventive. It is at least 3000 year old proven knowledge. Ayurveda takes care of health, healing, rejuvenation, prevention and cure.
This course is not a Teacher Training Program because Ayurveda is an Indian branch of medicine which is studied for FIVE years. But this course gives a good introduction and overview on Ayurveda. It helps in understanding one’s own constitution and accordingly adjust the diet and life style. This knowledge can be used for the benefit oneself and can also be shared with family, friends and students.
