The Path of Atsumi is a way of ‘Being’ that embraces unconditional Love and Acceptance as a way to liberation. As a therapy it is both energetic bodywork and a linguistic approach that recognizes the power of touch, tone and language to heal, prevent and restore harmony to an individual quality of life. As a personal life path it offers methods to define our purpose and direction, strengthen our weaknesses while utilizing our strengths. Thus “The Way of Atsumi Healing” allows the journey of life to be a joyful and fulfilling experience. The Philosophy and Body Psychology of Atsumi Healing is firmly grounded in Buddhist principles and the concepts of the Traditional Chinese (Asian) Holistic Principals of Healing (TCM). It encompasses Meditation, Yoga and Loving-Kindness as a way to creating “Being” in the present moment. Thus Atsumi offers us a retreat in Thailand that brings Spiritual and Personal Development, Health and Well being, and the power for totally Healing yourself and others, Body-Mind and Spirit.

The Birth of Atsumi

John Richard Chatteris was the founding director of Atsumi Healing.He worked within the natural therapy and personal/spiritual development arena for over 25 years. In Australia he co-founded and co-directed the Shiatsu College of South Australia.John was an accomplished counsellor, natural health practitioner, NLP Master, published author, teacher and musician, who loved to share his passions and talents with others.John had a vision about a place that offered spiritual and personal development, health and wellbeing and a chance to move away from emotional suffering and towards the ‘Enlightened State of Being’. That vision became a reality when he opened the doors of Atsumi Healing Centre in 2002 and began inviting people from all walks of life to come together and cleanse and detoxify their Body, Mind and Spirit.

Here at Atsumi Healing Retreat in Phuket, we know that your time is precious and we know your goal for yourself is high. Our guests visit us for many different reasons. Some to relax and rejuvenate, some to cleanse, some to lose weight, some to free themselves of the toxins we collect on a daily basis. Whatever your motivation, at Atsumi, we know we have a program designed to assist you and we even have spouse/partner programs for those not so enthused by the thought of a total cleanse.
