About Himalaya Yoga Valley Goa

Himalaya Yoga Valley yoga teacher training centre is located in a small community in the north of goa near the quiet Mandrem beach surrounded by the jungle and coconut trees. The core value of the centre is to “Honor the source” and a strong focus is placed on physical adjustments in order to improve alignment through a precise, yet dynamic practice. The centre also has an onsite Ayurveda spa where you can avail traditional ayurvedic treatments. To make the place safe the centre has round the clock security and 24 CCTV throughout the site. Himalaya Yoga Valley was founded by Yogacharya Lalit in 2002 in Dharamsala and later grew its branches to Goa and Ireland. He has been teaching for more than 15 years and has taught more than 2000 yoga teachers.

1. 10 Days Yoga Retreat

During Himalaya Valley Yoga Retreat twice daily asana classes will lead by Yogacharya Lalit, a master teacher who began practising yoga at the age of 7. Lalit’s unique asana classes combine elements from all of his schools of training. The centre also has an on-site Ayurvedic Therapist so you can enjoy a number of traditional treatments. Also, you have the option to join any of their sightseeing excursions.

2. 10 Ayurveda and Yoga Immersion

This unique immersion in Himalaya Valley Yoga Retreat combines daily yoga practice with lectures on Ayurveda that will give you all the knowledge and understanding that you need to incorporate the principles of Ayurveda into your daily routine. During this Himalaya Valley Yoga Retreat, you will optimise your wellbeing, Balance Your Doshas with yoga asana and meditation, learn simple techniques to dissolve stress and anxiety and experience Ayurvedic Massage and treatments.

3. 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course

Himalaya Valley Yoga Teacher Training Course delivers a comprehensive, theoretical and practical hands-on training designed to deepen their practitioners personal practise and elevate them from student to teacher. Trainees emerge from TTC as confident teachers with a strong and solid teaching skill set ready to begin their career. Alongside developing the art of teaching, trainees also gain a comprehensive understanding of the practice of yoga asanas, philosophy, physiology, adjusting, mantra chanting, chakras, anatomy, Ayurveda, mudras, pranayama and meditation and other traditional and contemporary Yoga techniques.

4. 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course

Himalaya Valley Yoga Teacher Training Course is a continuation of the Level 1 200 Hour syllabus at an advanced level, for an additional 300 hours study and skills training. The Level 2 Course is unique to Himalaya Yoga Valley in its concept, wherein trainee teachers have the opportunity to undertake an optional Elective Unit which enables them to develop a body of knowledge and portfolio around a specialised area of yoga they are interested in pursuing within a supportive and expert environment. Portfolio development is done in a supportive environment with the assistance of experienced teaching staff across all modalities.

5. 8 Days Yoga Intensive

Join Himalaya Valley Yoga Retreat for eight days dedicated to developing your yoga practice. Deepen your asana in twice-daily practices with Lalit and enjoy carefully developed daily lectures in some of the most popular subjects with the incredible teachers, including Philosophy, Anatomy and Ayurveda. Trainees and retreat attendees stay onsite in the newly constructed villas. Every villa is two-stories and has a large, comfortable living room to relax in where you are welcome to relax or sit down and enjoy a chat. Through the living room, you will also have access to the outdoor seating area. Each room receives a serene natural light through a range of large windows or open-air balconies. There are three types of accommodation available as follows

Himalaya Yoga Valley has its own onsite restaurant "Kaisa". The menu at Himalaya Yoga Valley changes multiple times throughout the year to prioritise local and seasonal produce and include vegan and gluten-free options. Rest easy knowing the kitchen operates with exceptionally high standards for cleanliness and all of their produce is washed twice in an all-natural antibacterial solution.

Breakfast - It changes daily, but you will always have access to fresh fruit, Poha (a traditional Indian flat rice), fresh Goan bread, filtered coffee, chai and a ginger lemon jaggery. Himalaya Yoga Valley Goa also has an espresso machine serving freshly roasted Blue Tokai coffee, sourced from the Malabar region of India.
Daily breakfast rotates between: Free-range scrambled eggs, Tofu scramble, Chickpea scramble, Muesli and yoghurt, Bircher muesli

Lunch- The menu lets you choose between a delicious variety daily. The menu has multiple filling vegan and gluten-free options to choose between.
Some in house favourites include: Vietnamese rice paper rolls, Brie and apple panini, Asian salad with peanut sauce, Quinoa + miso buddha bowl, Labneh plate

Dinner - The dinner options change every day and always include a western option, a traditional Indian curry, and fresh salads.
Some of the guest favourites include: Taco night, Channa Masala, Spinach and feta black bean burger, Gnocchi, Dahl fry

Drinks - Kaisa has an extensive drink menu in order to keep you well hydrated and feeling refreshed. The cold drinks range from delicious cranberry soda, a lemon soda (salty or sweet), a range of smoothies, as well as traditional Indian lassi. Hot drinks are also available, with everything from coffee or chai to warming freshly grated ginger lemon tea.

How to Get There

Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre is located in a small local community in Mandrem Beach, North Goa. Mandrem is a traditional area surrounded by lots of beautiful jungle and hosts a peaceful stretch of beach. Himalaya Yoga Valley happily arranges collection for students from the airport with local drivers from Mandrem who are well known to the standard fixed taxi rates. Trainees can also get taxis at the government taxi rank at the airport. The centre is approximately 90 minutes from Goa’s main airport and 2 hours from the main station Madgaon.
