Krishnamacharya from 1927 to 1929 in his village and later from 1932 to 1953 in Mysore. In 2005, Sir Panduranga Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Kendra® was founded with the leadership of the Late Sri Balaji Rao Thombre. Later in 2012, the organization established a new branch named Mysore Ashtanga Yoga Shala under the guidance of Dr. Ramesh Shetty to facilitate the promotion of their Teacher Training Course and yoga classes in Mysore. Today, the shala is a good, safe and beautiful space filled with lots of positive energy. It is almost like a home away from home.

Dr. Ramesh Shetty, born in 1964 and raised in Mysore, holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Yoga & Nature cure diploma from Karnataka University. With over 41 years of experience, he specializes in Asana Alignment and has been teaching Hatha yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. He received numerous awards for his contribution to the field of Yoga, including an Honorary Doctorate from the Indian Virtual Academy for Peace and Education in 2019, the Yoga Visharada award by the Mysore Yoga Association in 2015, the Yoga Bushana award by the Himalaya Yoga Foundation in 2014, and Yoga Siri award by Government of Karnataka in 2013.
